On 1st June 2010, 18 Leading Stewards and Leading Stewardesses attended the LS Development Program at CCTS. The 3 day program included short sessions on soft skills in which they were lectured on Assertiveness and Delegation, Basic Communications Skills and a crash course on Food and Wine knowledge. This program was first conducted in 2006. However, it has been revised to meet the current needs of the cabin crew which we hope the crew will find it beneficial for their personal development.

On 15th June 2010 a group of Korean students from INTI College were taken through a crash course on Aviation and Food & Beverages at CCTS. During the course, the students were briefed on the history of aviation in order to familiarize them with the aviation industry. They were later taught on the parts of an aircraft. Besides that, the students were also given an insight on the theory of flight, safety measures during the turbulence as well as the flight pattern.

After they had gone through the aviation course, the students had the opportunity to learn the sequence of meal service and cheese making. In addition, they were exposed to 5 types of beverages, the wine making and cocktails. The participants were thankful that they had learned a great deal of knowledge during the one day training and would like to thank CCTS for making their stay enjoyable and interesting. |

I never thought the day I was going to clip my wings is already here. It felt as if it was just yesterday, I joined the airline as a flight stewardess... I was based in Kota Kinabalu to fly the Fokker 50 for six months. Of course, at first, we didn't want to be based there… but then, we didn't want to come back… Ha Ha Ha… that was fun… staying with friends as well as learning and unfolding what life had planned for us. Today, as I leave my flying career, I leave with wider insight on how cultural differences affect not only people, but politics and the environment.
My basic training...?

When based in Kota Kinabalu…

Celebrating Raya at stations…

Learning cultures…

The environment…

Accepting my appointment letter to work on ground with Flight Safety and Human Factors as Flight Safety Instructor was what I wanted, and have to be fun... But then, waking up at 5.30 in the morning to get ready and leave the house before the traffic starts… phew… it was tough. Realizing that there won't be 'Dinner in Kuala Lumpur and Breakfast in London' nor 'Breakfast in Paris and Breakfast again in Kuala Lumpur' for the time being… made it tougher… I purposely stayed until 8.25am in the cafeteria chatting with my crew friends… consoling myself and building my courage. I was to report to work at 8.30 in the morning… he he he.
When I finally got the courage and put my first step into FSHF's office on the second floor; the welcoming smiles on the faces of my new colleagues in Flight Safety Training gave me a new founded life. The idea of waking up so early in the morning to go to work now vanished… Further, standing on the other side of the table and with my friends being my students, made it more fun…?
Having been flying (half wing though… as I am not flying the plane, he he he ) for the past 18 years, had created so much of M&M's (moments and memories) that I will cherish as it had made me who and what I am today. Were my last few flights memorable…? Indeed, it was. My IFS… Mazlan and Rahim and the rest of the crew, really made sure I had more M&M's to cherish.
Now, I have started to unfold a new chapter in my life, with more M&M's as life is a process and we are in the process. Some of the early moments and memories captured in this new chapter of life…
Introducing… the training beauties…

Some of the refresher practical drills conducted for the flight and cabin crew this year. Fire Fighting, Smoke Evacuation and Door Drills…

Hope you enjoyed reading them....as much as I enjoyed writing them… By the way, how about your M&Ms? |

In April, MAS adopted schools’ students from Terengganu, Perak, Sabah and Sarawak came to pay a visit to MAS Academy.
The three day visit was organized for the PINTAR program and there were 105 students and 14 teachers from 7 schools.
It was a fun day for us - the CCTS team as we brought the students for a tour around the academy.

We took them around CCTS, Safety Department, Grooming and First Aid room.
The students were given an insight on table manners and social etiquette. They were also taught first aid and given the safety practical session by the safety instructors.

Besides having a brief session of Grooming and First Aid, they were brought to the Cabin Services Trainer (CST) to get the insight look and hands on experience of B737, A330 and B747 CST.
We hope the students relished the experience and will take it home as something that they will always remember. |
